Dear Londoners

I hope you will share a short message of ours with your Italian friends and acquaintances.

We are collecting signatures for a list of candidates for the upcoming elections of representatives of Italians abroad. We’re quite in trouble as the law has been changed at the last minute and only have up to Saturday to get 100 more signatures (at this stage they have to be done at the Italian Consulate near Blackfriars).

We will understand if you won’t feel comfortable in forwarding the text below to part or all of your London based Italian network, but nonetheless we’re giving it a try…maybe you’ll appreciate the boldness of the request 🙂

Note the message is not asking for votes, rather for a signature in order to be allowed to participate in the actual elections in December.

Il gruppo Siamo Italiani è ormai prontissimo a partecipare alle elezioni Comites 2014. Ma solo se raccogliamo DUECENTO firme in totale entro sabato 18 (fra 2 giorni).

Se vuoi aiutarci a partecipare, puoi firmare in calce alla lista “Siamo Italiani” presso il Consolato, 83/86 FARRINGDON STREET, LONDON EC4A 4BL (Underground: Blackfriars, St Paul’s o Farringdon). Trains: City Thameslink).

Per firmare bisogna essere iscritti AIRE al 31/12/2013 ed occorre naturalmente un documento di identità.

Vogliamo far notare come la partecipazione alle elezioni Comites 2014 sia diventata IMPERATIVA proprio perché la nuova legge, al solito un miscuglio di bizantino e barocco, così com’è sembra fatta per EMARGINARCI tutti, come se gli italiani all’estero fossero invece cittadini in North Korea, cui è praticamente impedito finanche candidarsi.

Naturalmente firmare per la lista non implica o costringe in alcun modo a votare poi per la lista stessa – ti chiediamo solo di “concederci cortesemente il PERMESSO di partecipare” alle elezioni Comites 2014, NONOSTANTE gli innumerevoli ostacoli artificiosamente posti sul nostro cammino. Una situazione al limite del paradossale in una normale democrazia, ma naturalmente ovvia quando c’è di mezzo l’Italia.
